This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use
the Gijón Contigo Android app (package com.ivkeyminds.gijoncontigo).
Who we are

Gijón Contigo is designed to work offline-first. Most information is stored and processed locally on your device, and is not sent to us.
Processed and stored on your device (not sent to us)
- On-device app data. Your preferences, checklist progress (completed items), saved items, and reminder settings are stored locally on your device.
- Documents and appointments (optional). If you add documents or appointments, these are stored on your device. Attached files are stored encrypted on-device.
- Location information (optional). If you enable location permission, the app can use your device location to show your position and distances on the map. Your precise location is used by the app on your device and is not sent to our servers by default.
- Local notifications. The app can schedule local notifications for reminders (for example, appointments and document expiry). These reminders are scheduled on your device.
Transmitted over the network (only when you use online features)
- Content API. When the app fetches dynamic content, this API receives your request. This may include your selected language and app-internal identifiers (for example, completed item IDs). Like most services, this API may also receive standard technical information such as your IP address and user-agent.
- Map resources. When using the map, the app loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap and loads the Leaflet map library from a CDN inside an in-app web view. These third-party services may receive standard technical information such as your IP address and user-agent.
- Support communications. If you contact us by email, we receive the information you send (such as your email address and message content).
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide and operate app features (steps, map, resources, reminders).
- Enable offline functionality by storing your choices and progress locally on your device.
- Respond to support requests.
- Improve app reliability and performance (for example, by monitoring backend availability and responding to support reports).
Sharing and service providers
The app does not upload your on-device content (such as your documents or appointments) to our servers. However, when you use online features, some information is shared with service providers:
- Content API (backend for optional dynamic content).
- OpenStreetMap (map tiles) and related infrastructure.
- Leaflet (map library loaded via CDN inside an in-app web view).
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
- On-device data (progress, preferences, reminders, documents, attachments) is kept on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Support emails may be retained as needed to respond and for recordkeeping.
Access and deletion
You can delete app data by clearing the app's storage in Android settings or by uninstalling the app.

Security
The app stores data locally on your device. When you attach files to your vault, the app encrypts the file contents on-device before saving them. No method of storage is completely secure, so we recommend keeping your device protected (for example, with a screen lock).
Children's privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
