This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Gijón Contigo app on iOS or Android.

Who we are

Information we process

Gijón Contigo is designed to work offline-first. Most app information is stored and processed locally on your device, and is not sent to us unless you choose to use an online feature such as support email or dynamic content loading.

Processed and stored on your device (not sent to us)

• On-device app data. Your preferences, onboarding choices, checklist progress (completed items), saved items, selected neighborhood, and reminder settings are stored locally on your device.
• Documents and appointments (optional). If you add documents, files, or appointments, these are stored on your device. Attached files are stored encrypted on-device.
• Location information (optional). If you grant location permission, the app can use your device location while the app is open to show your position, estimate distances to nearby services, detect your neighborhood in Gijón, and prepare directions. Your precise location is used by the app on your device and is not sent to our servers by default.
• Photos and selected files (optional). If you choose photos, document images, or screenshots from your device, the app uses only the items you select. These files stay on your device unless you choose to attach them to a support email or another feature that clearly sends them outside the app.
• Local notifications. The app can schedule local notifications for reminders (for example, appointments and document expiry). These reminders are scheduled on your device.

Transmitted over the network (only when you use online features)

• Content API. When the app fetches dynamic content, the backend receives your request. This may include your selected language and app-internal identifiers (for example, completed item IDs). Like most services, this API may also receive standard technical information such as your IP address and user-agent.
• Map resources. When using the map, the app loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap and loads the Leaflet map library from a CDN inside an in-app web view. These third-party services may receive standard technical information such as your IP address and user-agent.
• Directions and external maps. If you ask the app to open directions, the app may pass the origin and destination coordinates to Apple Maps, Google Maps, or the maps app or browser selected by your device. Those services process the request under their own privacy policies.
• Support communications. If you contact us by email or through the support screen, we receive the information you send, such as your email address, message content, device/app diagnostics included in the message, and any screenshots or files you choose to attach.
• This website. When you visit this privacy policy or other pages on apps.ivkey.com, our web hosting and website analytics tools may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser, device type, referring page, and page interactions. Website analytics are used for site reliability and understanding page usage; they are separate from the Gijón Contigo mobile app.

How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide and operate app features, including steps, map, resources, documents, reminders, and support.
• Enable offline functionality by storing your choices and progress locally on your device.
• Use location only for location-based features you choose to use.
• Send support messages and attachments only when you choose to contact us.
• Respond to support requests.
• Improve app reliability and performance (for example, by monitoring backend availability and responding to support reports).

Sharing and service providers

The app does not upload your on-device content (such as your documents or appointments) to our servers. However, when you use online features, some information is shared with service providers:

• Content API (backend for optional dynamic content).
• OpenStreetMap (map tiles) and related infrastructure.
• Leaflet (map library loaded via CDN inside an in-app web view).
• Apple Maps, Google Maps, or other map providers when you choose to open directions.
• Email and support providers when you choose to send a support request.
• Website hosting and analytics providers for apps.ivkey.com pages.

We do not sell your personal information. The app does not include third-party advertising, behavioral advertising, or cross-app tracking. The app does not use App Tracking Transparency tracking, and we do not use app data to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

The app does not require an account, does not offer in-app purchases or subscriptions, and does not use social login.

Data retention

• On-device data (progress, preferences, reminders, documents, attachments, and encrypted vault files) is kept on your device until you delete it in the app, clear the app data where your operating system supports that option, or uninstall the app.
• Support emails may be retained as needed to respond and for recordkeeping.
• Backend and website logs may be retained for security, reliability, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.

Access and deletion

You can delete optional documents, attachments, and reminders inside the app. You can also delete locally stored app data by uninstalling the app. On Android, you may also clear the app's storage in Android settings. On iOS, deleting the app removes the app's local container from the device.

You can withdraw optional permissions such as Location, Photos, and Notifications in iOS or Android system settings. Some related features may stop working until you grant the permission again.

Security

The app stores data locally on your device. When you attach files to your vault, the app encrypts the file contents on-device before saving them. No method of storage is completely secure, so we recommend keeping your device protected (for example, with a screen lock).

Children's privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
